New Housing Schemes Need Public Transport

There are constantly reviews and government think tanks spouting off about the health and wealth of the nation.  This is nothing new and for a short while recently we were inundated by political thesis every ten minutes – political parties having their annual conferences.  One thing that has comeout in the news this week is something many folk in this tiny Isle of ours have been anxiously concerned about – why are there so many out of town housing developments being allowed through.  Each council has a 5 years housing development plan meaning that only land or brown space within the boundary can be built on .  Along many major trunk routes on the edges of towns, up spring more houses, they’re nowhere near bus routes or railway stations or trams – an environmental nightmare looming.   New out of town housing, away from public transport routes  means buyers must rely on motor cars or motor bikes to get anywhere.
