New Housing Developments Not So Utilitarian

There’s been quite an explosion in the number of new housing developments coming on stream around where I live.   I’m guessing this isn’t anything new now – apparently there are millions of younger families all wanting to settle down and buy a property.  I don’t actually know any myself but who am I to disbelieve what we are constantly being told.   The odd thing about all this building is that the land between each town doesn’t seem to lessen as much as I feared it would.  We are now so used to every bypass and major road having some ribbon development down the sides, that I’m guessing this infilling isn’t having too much of an effect.  The houses themselves are very attractive these days too.  None of the seriously ugly quick build council house effect so prevalent after the end of WW2.    At least with the new crop, there is beauty in the eye of the beholder.
