Underfloor Heating Delays Extension Perfection

I was sat watching a programme about building methods from way back.  It was jolly interesting – in the days before damp proof courses were thought of and chimneys withor without fireplaces below, being placed solely for the purpose of looking good rather than keeping the building warm and dry.  We tend to take our central heating for granted these days – I certainly do.  Whilst staying with a relative’s family recently, I couldn’t help noticing how cold I was.  They have a large double fronted 1920s detached that they’ve extended up and out the back – the shell of the extension is up but progress has stalled because the chap needed to install the underfloor heating has been retained away on another project.   Although the owner has selected the very best wall insulating lining boards for different purposes, fireproof here, more damp proof ones there etc. it is desperately in need of the underfloor heating to be installed!
